Last Updated: June 2026

1. Introduction and Scope

Welcome to Bookr ("we," "our," "us," or the "Company"). We operate the Bookr mobile application, a digital platform connecting users with premium service providers. We deeply respect your right to privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") is published in accordance with the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. It explains how we collect, store, process, and transfer your data. By accessing or using the Bookr app, you expressly consent to the practices described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a seamless booking experience across our services, we collect various categories of data. We strictly adhere to the principle of data minimization.

  • Account & Identity Data: When you create an account or update your profile, we collect your full name, mobile number, email address, and optional profile picture.
  • Transactional & Booking Data: We maintain a detailed record of your bookings. This includes the bookings you make across staycations (resorts, farmhouses), sports venues (turfs, courts), dining experiences (table bookings, bill payments), and events (concerts, shows), as well as transaction status, date, time slots, guest counts, and total amounts.
  • Financial Data: We process payments via secure third-party gateways (e.g., Razorpay). Bookr does not directly collect, capture, or store your credit/debit card numbers, CVV, or UPI PINs. We only store transaction IDs and payment statuses for accounting and reference purposes.
  • Device & Technical Data: We automatically collect hardware identifiers such as your Device ID, Operating System (iOS/Android), App Version, IP Address, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) Tokens. This helps us ensure app stability, send push notifications, and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Location Data: With your explicit, revocable consent, we collect precise foreground geolocation data. This is strictly required to display nearby staycations, sports venues, dining options, and events, calculate travel distances, and provide geographic filtering. We do not track your location in the background.
  • Photo Library & Camera: With your permission, we may access your device's photo library to let you upload a custom profile picture.

  • 3. Use of Your Information

Your data is strictly utilized for the following core business operations:

  • To authenticate your identity via One-Time Passwords (OTP).
  • To facilitate staycation, sports, dining, and event discovery and process bookings.
  • To communicate transactional updates, including booking confirmations, cancellations, and payment receipts via SMS, WhatsApp, Email, or Push Notifications.
  • To provide customer support, handle grievances, and mediate disputes between you and venue owners.
  • To perform internal data analysis, optimize app performance, and troubleshoot software bugs.
  • To enforce our Terms & Conditions and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity on the platform.

  • 4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

While mobile applications do not use traditional web cookies, we utilize equivalent tracking technologies such as mobile advertising IDs and analytical SDKs. These tools help us understand user behavior, track the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, and remember your login state. You may reset your device's advertising identifier through your smartphone's privacy settings.

    5. Disclosure and Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party ad networks. We only share data under the following strict scenarios:

  • Venue Owners & Service Providers: When you book a staycation, sports court, dining table, or event, we share your name, phone number, and booking details with the specific venue owner or manager. This is strictly to allow them to verify your identity, check you in, and contact you regarding your specific booking.
  • Infrastructure Partners: We share necessary encrypted data with trusted service providers, including our database host (Supabase), notification engine (Google Firebase), and payment gateway (Razorpay). These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Authorities: We will disclose your information if legally required to do so by a court order, government request, or law enforcement agency to protect the safety, property, and rights of Bookr, its users, or the general public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of the business assets, subject to the acquiring entity honoring this Privacy Policy.

  • 6. Data Security

We implement robust, industry-standard security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for data in transit and secure database architectures for data at rest. However, no internet-based transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as your account is active, or as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy. Furthermore, we may retain certain transactional records for up to 7 years to comply with Indian accounting, tax, and legal obligations, even after your account is deleted.

    8. User Rights and Account Deletion

You maintain full control over your personal data. You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your information. You may initiate a permanent account deletion directly within the Bookr application under the Profile settings. Upon successful deletion, your profile identifiers will be purged from our active databases, and you will be immediately logged out.

    9. Children's Privacy

Bookr is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information.

    10. Third-Party Links

The Bookr app may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., Google Maps for directions). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external entities. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

    11. Modifications to this Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in legal requirements or our business practices. Significant updates will be communicated via in-app notifications. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

    12. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, if you have any grievances, concerns, or questions regarding the processing of your data, please contact our designated Grievance Officer:

    Email: legal@thebookr.in

Address: Bookr Headquarters, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India.
